Encore..do you want more

So this is Xmas

And what have you done

Another year over

And a new one just begun

Merry Christmas! After a whole month of Christmas festivities in Copenhagen, the real deal has come and gone and we can finally get on with our lives without the red and white hearts and cuteness. The Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band got together for our Christmas dinner last night at Andres' place. Wonderful food contributed by everyone and even individual party hats for everyone..

From left to right: the bishop, the viking, the angel, santa, the princess/reindeer, the king! and the queen

Danish frikadellas and Spanish omelette

Tiramisu and strawberry soup for dessert

On real Christmas day (the 25th!) at Cafe Stella with a mainly Australia-NZ contingent

Sarah ice-skating in Kongens Nytorv

One last time at the infamous studenterhuset..the place to be on a Wednesday night in Copenhagen..

Its coooold!

Yum Cha in Copenhagen..unbelievable but true! =) You have no idea how excited I was!

Saying goodbye to familiar sights and landmarks..

Goodbye to Norreport Station..our usual meeting point..where I was always guaranteed to be running late..

Goodbye to the black diamond (royal library) and the beautiful canals

Taking down the memories collected on my corkboard over the past 5 months: postcards and posters from travels to Bergen, London, Oslo, Prague, Berlin and Stockholm; tickets and program from Swan Lake at the Opera House, Billy Elliot in London and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre at Tivoli; my certificate from danish language class and of course pictures of beautiful Copenhagen.

Chilling out at Turbinehallen on Adelsgale. The only place in Copenhagen not decorated in hyggelig candles-everywhere style. Instead they have phrases such as "Fear is Here" and "Fear thy Neighbour" painted on the walls..

More cultural experiences. Philipp and Tristan making Vietnamese rice paper rolls

Our very long awaited laksa..yes it finally did happen! Turned out more a combination of prawn mee/laksa/mee siam but something rather Malaysian tasting to thats good enough I reckon!

Jee and I managed to catch Frederiksborg castle on a beautiful winter's day

One to add to the "only in Denmark" collection. A painting in the castle (part of the national museum) of Danish UN peacekeepers...with one soldier lighting a cigarette in front of a tank (??)

So this is it..the princesses signing off from Copenhagen..

Thanks for following our blog over the past few months..hope you've enjoyed keeping up with our adventures in Copenhagen. I'm going to miss everyone terribly and the short pseudo-life I've created here. Its hard to know what is reality anymore...

As I leave Copenhagen and switch back into my former life, so too will I revert to my former virtual universe - you can find me here and Sarah here.

Love y'all!

Over and out

=)
