Norway: Part 2
Cynthia really knows how to take a photograph. Check out these pictures of the fjorden, and of Bergen, which will fill in some gaps from the last post...
From Aurlandsfjorden, we travelled in our beautiful cruiser into a narrower, more extreme fjord 1,800 metres high, called Naeroyfjorden, which is a UNESCO listed site, and is also the narrowest fjord in Europe.
Our 32-bedder dorm room in Bergen, which was actually really cool. I think we were the last to come in at about 11.30pm. Very chilled, and always someone tapping away on their laptop.

Our Prawn Risotto

Malibu and tunes in Bergen fish market on a rainy night - were we really there?
We had 1 hour to kill in Voss between trains and discovered this beautiful lake. Daniela and Martina were keen and went in for a dip (these crazy Europeans will even swim in freezing cold water!), and I have to say this is one of my favourite shots:
Here we are at Zupperia in Bergen. It was impossible to choose only one soup on a list of about 20, so we went for the tasting plate. Very sleek, functional decor, like a cafeteria that you would actually want to linger in for a while...
L-R: Reindeer soup (appropriately called Rudolphsuppe), which was damn tasty, Chicken and Saffron, and, of course, Fish
Bergen Harbour
Our resident vegetarian from Bern, doing even more for the planet. You rock!

[Cynth, these photos are a knock-out!] Here we have some of the fine produce in Bergen fish market

Whilst Claudia and Sarah were making local candle-makers weep, Daniela, Martina and Cynthia trekked all the way (with immense effort, expense and energy) to the cable car station that would take them to the top of the highest mountain in Bergen for a spectacular view of the city..except that it was "closed for maintenance" that day and only found out when they reached there..Grrrr!

The Bergen Art Museum had some really interesting Munch, of course, and a large collection of modern and contemporary art. But please, no more 17th Century Danish Golden Age! Enough with the peasants and farmhouses!
The 2 photo-nuts, Daniela and Cynthia, ran off to photograph beautiful Bergen Harbour in the twilight hours, leaving the 2.5 Italians to entertain their newly found Italian mate, Luca, from Turin. Sarah had bumped into him at our hostel in Oslo and then later in our hostel in Bergen..hrmm can you say stalker much?
The Moose sausage or the carrot muffin...? I'd like to point out that this menu is not from some strange and exotic restaurant but is actually the menu onboard our Norwegian Air (low-cost airline) flight back to Copenhagen..imagine if Qantas offered Kangaroo sausages and Emu meat pies on board..
