Louisiana, Hamlet Castle @ Helsingor, Swan Lake & Superhabit @ Rust
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
Scandinavian Princess Tours strikes again with its itineraries par excellence and the girls, as well as the lovely Thomas from Rimmini, go to Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, 35 minutes north of Copenhagen by train.

An amazing thing about Louisiana, if not the most amazing thing for some, is the museum itself. It's all-white mix of southern state colonial and modern architecture sits upon the greenest sculpture garden you've ever seen on a small cliff overlooking the Sound. You can see Sweden not too far away.
We arrive just in time to see the exhibition "Drink my Ocean" in its last weekend, which was a collection of various video artists' works ranging from historical, obliquely political works to, of course, the very bizzare.
There was room upon room of installation theatres and spaces, some the size of small cinemas. Of interest was an installation by a Trinidadian artist mapping images of "terrorist" acts through time and splicing them with commercial footage, blurring the distinction to great effect.
Furniture designer, Poul Kjaerholm's avant guard works from mid last century formed the busiest exhibition we saw, confirming the Danes' love of hygge, home life, and interior design.
Hamlet Castle @ Helsingor
Kronborg Castle at Helsingor, where the legendary prince who inspired Shakespeare's Hamlet lived, was not the touristy experience we'd expected... until a brazillian group starting howling like ghosts in the tunnels of the casemates below the castle. The royal apartments were quite simple and more atmopsheric than others we've seen in Europe. And it had the most increadible moat.
Swan Lake
Here we are in the lobby of the new Operahuset, waiting for curtain call at The Bolshoi Ballet's performance of Swan Lake.
You can see the Queen's palace in the background, Ameliaborg.

Superhabit at Rust Nighclub
Then it was off to watch Sarah's superhot danish teacher's band, Superhabit perform at Rust Nightclub. Esben's students/die-hard fans: Emily, Sarah, Santiago, Cynthia (not Esben's student but keen to jump the bandwagon..why not!), Claudia and Rosa.
Mari, another Aussie *gaaasp!*
We love you, Esben! The hottest trommer / danish teacher in Kobenhavn!

Love the blog Sarah and Cynthia, the photos are just amazing. Keep those updates coming. Love Kerrie (Sarah's aunty - who feels quite old cause when I did all my travelling last century you had to write letters to keep in touch LOL)
That lone guy must be the luckiest guy in the world
The funniest thing! It's Marianna (Mari) from the second last photo. About ten months later, I met the bass player in Superhabit (on the right in the last photo) in one of my courses and we are now married, living in Copenhagen together and have a baby girl. My husband just randomly came across this blog when he googled his old band. Thanks for recording this little bit of history for us Sarah and Cynthia! :-)
